Women of Stewart Cooperative – both young and older – joined forces to once again carry out the annual Landscaping Day at the house.  The girls remained flexible due to inclement weather.  Early morning rains and colder temperatures called for a change in original plans.  The Board of Directors (BOD) met Saturday morning on April 28th and the landscaping was moved to the afternoon.  After completing the BOD meeting, we had lunch as a group.

Liz (Felix) Yost (PC’98), Stewart BOD Nutritional Chair, organized a yummy lunch of Jimmy John sandwiches, chips, brownies and drinks.  Everyone enjoyed a time of fellowship and House Advisor, Sharon Winslow, shared a letter with everyone and reminded us to be mindful of the Lord’s guiding because we really don’t know the depth of use God will get out of that act of obedience.

BOD Maintenance Chairs Amanda Padgett and Dawn Johnson led the afternoon activities of weeding the landscaping beds, trimming trees and shrubs, relocating some day lilies as well as planting some new bushes and flowers and finally mulching the beds.  Everyone worked hard despite the cooler temperatures.

The house was left looking better than we found it and fellowship was abundant!!  Make a mental note to join us next year as we continue this annual activity of not just working, but enjoying each other’s fellowship — STEWART STYLE!

The Stewart Cooperative Board of Directors would like to welcome Audra (Roach) Lavery & Kylee (Griggs) Eller as our newest members! Audra will be serving as the Alumni Relations Chair, and Kylee will be serving as the Marketing Chair. Welcome Ladies!!!

We currently have 2 Board positions open – Alumni Relations Chair & Marketing Chair. Here are the job descriptions:

Alumni Relations Chair

1. Attending and participating in all Board meetings and functions (4 Board meetings a year)
2. Planning and facilitating the Praying Alumni Lady (PAL) program –> April – November
3. Planning & facilitating the annual Scholarship dinner for the girls in the house –> January
4. Planning lunch for the girls of the house & alumni volunteers at the annual Landscaping Day –> April
5. Designing and mailing out the annual alumni newsletter –> August
6. Communicating with the alumni via the email group, Facebook, and the alumni blog –>continual

Marketing Chair

1. Attending and participating in all Board meetings and functions (4 Board meetings a year)
2. Creating merchandise to market to Stewart alumni and active members for special events (house anniversaries, retreats, etc.)
3. Facilitating the selling of Stewart merchandise to alumni and active members
4. Brainstorm fundraising ideas or projects
