Stewart PAL Program

It’s that time of year again and I am now recruiting some of you lovely ladies to be PALs this year!! In case you don’t know, the PAL (Praying Alumni Ladies) Program is a prayer program where we pair up one alumni with one in-coming Stewart pledge. This year we will have 14 pledges, so we need lots of lovely alumni (LIKE YOU!!!) to volunteer to be a PAL.

It is such a blessing to the girls and I know that God will bless you through it as well!! We would love to have all 14 PALs confirmed by June 15th!

Prayer Request – Brown Family

Please pray for Brad and Kristen Jones (PC’05) as Brad lost his job on Friday. However, on the same day, he got an interview! Please pray that this time of being jobless is short lived and that God will give them peace. So far they are very optimistic. The company he is interviewing for is a great company, and he would have steady hours and optional overtime quite often. They REALLY appreciate the prayers!

Landscaping Day 2012: Coldie, but a Goodie!

Women of Stewart Cooperative – both young and older – joined forces to once again carry out the annual Landscaping Day at the house. The girls remained flexible due to inclement weather. Early morning rains and colder temperatures called for a change in original plans. The Board of Directors (BOD) met Saturday morning on April 28th and the landscaping was moved to the afternoon. After completing the BOD meeting, we had lunch as a group.

Liz (Felix) Yost (PC’98), Stewart BOD Nutritional Chair, organized a yummy lunch of Jimmy John sandwiches, chips, brownies and drinks. Everyone enjoyed a time of fellowship and House Advisor, Sharon Winslow, shared a letter with everyone and reminded us to be mindful of the Lord’s guiding because we really don’t know the depth of use God will get out of that act of obedience.

BOD Maintenance Chairs Amanda Padgett and Dawn Johnson led the afternoon activities of weeding the landscaping beds, trimming trees and shrubs, relocating some day lilies as well as planting some new bushes and flowers and finally mulching the beds. Everyone worked hard despite the cooler temperatures.

The house was left looking better than we found it and fellowship was abundant!! Make a mental note to join us next year as we continue this annual activity of not just working, but enjoying each other’s fellowship — STEWART STYLE!

Landscaping Day April 28th

Come one, come all! Saturday, April 28th is Landscaping Day at Stewart and everyone is welcome! We will be starting at 9am and lunch will be provided afterwards! Please RSVP to me (Audra Lavery, Alumni@stewartcoopalumni.org) so we can make sure to provide enough food for everyone! Some tools will be provided, but bring a pair of gloves and your favorite yard tools. Feel free to let us know if you have any questions!

Registration Deadline Fast Approaching

The 5th Annual Stewart Retreat is fast approaching and you only have 10 days left to turn in your registration form and receive the early bird price. No registrations can be accepted after March 30th this year, please keep this in mind!

We hope you will all sincerely pray about attending this year’s retreat. Please do not hesitate to contact Amanda Haney (Social@stewartcoopalumni.org) if you have any questions or would like information on the scholarships that are available to you.

5th Annual Stewart Retreat Registration Form

As promised, here is the Generations Registration form for the 5th Annual Stewart Women’s Retreat. It will be on April 13th and 14th this year at Camp Allendale just outside of Trafalgar, IN.

The deadline for early registration (saves you $10!!) is March 23rd and forms will need to be completed and mailed to Amanda Haney at the address listed on the second page. Checks should be made out to Stewart Cooperative.

Don’t forget that the minimum of a $25.00 non-refundable deposit is required with registration. The early bird fee for the retreat is $45 if received before March 23, 2012. After, March 23, the retreat fee will be $55. No registrations will be accepted this year after March 30, 2012.

Join us for the 5th Annual Stewart Women’s Retreat on April 13th-14th to not only see old friends, but also make some new ones! You will have the opportunity to work closely with a small group of women, while being reminded of the support we have to offer each other as sisters in Christ.

Congratulations to Maggie (“Johnson”, PC’ 02) & her husband, Derek Johnson, on the birth of their son! Broderick “Brody” David Johnson was born September 23, 2011. He’s a big, healthy baby boy that is filling their lives with more joy than they could imagine.
